Francesca Woodman was an American photographer. Her work dismembers the female form, limiting the photographic gaze. Her work reflects ideas of surrealism, and influence of Richard Serra and Duane Michals. She melts into walls, hides behind architectural elements, and obscures her face with masks, motion, and light.
